Mike Jorgensen

Mike became a trustee board member in 2009.

Mike started his career in the Civil Service in Swansea.  In his twenties, he made a career change and moved into sales in the Life and Pensions industry.  He worked for Royal & Sun Alliance for 27 years in South Wales and Bristol, and for five years was the Branch Manager at Cardiff.

In 2002 Royal & Sun Alliance closed to new business and Mike was made redundant and given early retirement.  Since 2003 he has been working on a part time basis for a Financial Adviser in Cardiff.  

Mike has a severely autistic son with challenging behaviour.  At age fourteen he moved away to a school in Stourbridge that has a specialist autism unit.  While there, Mike served as a parent representative on an Autism Forum Group.  At age nineteen his son returned home to Caerphilly to live in a supported living bungalow, and Mirus became his care provider.

Mike enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with his son.
